Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. The current president is and the controlling owner for the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is a native of California and grew up an heir to a prestigious family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon, and later the owner of Lakers as well as other companies. She felt abandoned emotionally as her parents divorced in the year 1972. At 19 years old she joined the family business as the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team.
